Mission Statement

The Open Path is a community of beings dedicated to the unfoldment
and evolution of consciousness through the teaching and practice of meditation, the study of philosophy and religion, and the performance of charitable works. Our prime emphasis is the practice and study of the Tibetan tradition of Buddha Dharma.

Venerable JaEun Sunim
February 9 – 20, 2010


JaEun Sunim is a Buddhist nun ordained in the Jogye Order of Korea.
She is a student of the Ven. Namgyal Rinpoche and has also studied
with other eminent Buddhist masters.  JaEun spent ten years in Korea,
learned the language, completed the traditional four year seminary,
and received the full Bikkhuni Ordination.

A native of Canada, JaEun was born in Calgary, went to university
in Edmonton, and holds a PhD in biochemistry.  She is now back in
Canada, giving weekly classes and teaching meditation in Didsbury,
Alberta.  JaEun also teaches at the Novayana Society in Edmonton
and at the Korean Buddhist Temple in Calgary.

All are welcome – no one turned away for lack of funds.

IMPORTANT  NOTE:
The Open Path collects fees to pay expenses of the course, teacher’s travel and accommodations.
Donations to the teacher -- dana -- are given separately.  PLEASE GIVE GENEROUSLY.
